Color, Gloss and Appearance Under Control
Liquid paint gives us precise control over color, gloss and surface appearance for products of nearly any size, shape or material combination.
Where Liquid Paint Fits
Liquid paint is a strong choice when appearance, product size or material requirements make other coating processes less practical.
Wet spray can be matched to a wide range of color standards and gloss levels. It works well on large assemblies, mixed-material products and configurations that cannot fit through a powder cure oven or an electrocoat tank.
Liquid paint also supports multi-color work, masked graphics and detailed color breaks. When a new product needs to match an existing finish, wet spray gives us the control to match the required color and appearance.
Our Standard Sequence
-
Preparation
Degreasing, sanding and blasting where the substrate or specification requires it. Surface preparation affects both adhesion and final appearance.
-
Masking and Priming
Surfaces that stay bare are masked to the print. Primer is selected for the substrate and service environment, including e-coat primer where available.
-
Topcoat Application
Coating is applied in a controlled booth to the specified film build, color and gloss, with wet film readings taken during application.
-
Cure
The coating is air dried or force dried based on the coating system and the product's temperature limits.
-
Inspection and Packaging
Color, gloss, film thickness and appearance are verified before the finished product is packaged for shipment.
What We Can Do With Liquid Paint
Color Matching
We paint to the customer's color standard so a new product can match the equipment or assembly it is built for.
Gloss Control
From high gloss to flat, gloss is specified, measured and repeated on future production runs.
Multi-Color Work
Masked two-tone and multi-color schemes, accent panels and defined color breaks on the same product.
Large and Complex Products
Liquid paint works well on assemblies too large for an oven or tank, as well as configurations a conveyorized line cannot carry.
Mixed Materials
Products combining steel with materials that cannot withstand powder cure temperatures.
Liquid Over E-Coat
Liquid topcoat over an electrocoat primer provides corrosion protection underneath and controlled appearance on the surface.
Liquid Paint Capacity Across Our Network
Our liquid paint operations support large assemblies, complex configurations and production work across a range of volumes. Equipment and line setup are matched to the size, material and finish requirements of the work.
Keeping liquid paint capacity close to customer production helps reduce freight, handling and the risk of damage to finished surfaces.
